The century-old Mohammedan Sporting Club is about to be elected after more than
three decades. At present, both the ruling and opposition factions are busy
making their own arrangements regarding this election.
With elections approaching, Leader of the Opposition and former General
Secretary of Mohammedan Sporting Club Sk. Wasim Akram visited Furfura Sharif
this afternoon to meet Pirzada Taha Siddiqui, where Wasim had a long discussion
with Toha Siddiqui about the current situation of the club. Ardent sports lover
Toha Siddiqui assured Wasim to be with him in his quest to bring democracy to
Mohammedan Sporting Club.
It is worth mentioning that elections are going to be held in the club for the
first time in more than three decades after Wasim filed a suit in the Calcutta
High Court demanding restoration of democracy in Mohammedan Sporting Club.
Meanwhile, two hearings have been held in this matter and the next hearing will
be held on June 30.
