Ghulam Ashraf on Saturday formally took charge as the President of the Mohammedan Sporting
Club. After former President Mohammed Amiruddin vacated the post due to personal reasons, Ashraf was elected the President unopposed at the Executive
Committee meeting, chaired by Mr. Amiruddin.
“We are delighted to have Ghulam Ashraf as our
President. We have no doubt he will help strengthen our administration and
steer the ship forward,” said Amiruddin.
While Ashraf will be the President, Danish Iqbal,
Shams Iqbal, Farhan Ahmed, and Mohammed Akram were elected as Interim General
Secretary, Vice President, Ground Secretary, and Treasurer respectively.
“I am honored to be associated with Mohammedan
Sporting Club and would like to thank the Executive Committee for considering
me for this post. There was a time when Mohammedan Sporting Club set the
benchmark in Indian Football and we will leave no stones unturned to take Mohammedan Sporting Club
where it belongs,” said Ashraf.
