Delhi Capitals knocked
out Sunrisers Hyderabad in qualifier 2 and secure their place in the final for
the first time in IPL History. In this crucial game, DC won the toss and opted
to bat first.
They change in their
batting order and that works. Marcus Stoinis comes to open with Sikhar Dhawan
and gave his team a good start by scoring 38 runs. Dhawan played an innings of
78 off only 50 balls. Though skipper Shreyas Iyer failed to score big but
Simron Hetmyer’s unbeaten 42 off 22 balls helped DC to register a total of 189
runs.
Chasing the target SRH
lost skipper and most dependable batsman David Warner (2) in second over.
Another opener Priyam Garg (17) also failed to give to provide confidence
to his team. Manish Pandey departs in 21 runs.
Because of only Kane
Williamson (67) SRH was in the game till 17th over. But with
his wicket, all hopes come to an end. Rashid Khan (11) and Abdul Samad (33)
tried their level best but that was not enough to secure a ticket of final.
Kagiso Rabada changed the game by taking 3-wickets in the 19th over.
In the final DC will face defending champion Mumbai Indians in Dubai. Rabada
took 4-wickets and 3-wickets were taken by Marcus Stoinis. Axar Patel took one
crucial wicket of Jason Holder (11).
