The Stay Safe Vaccination Drive-- initiative organised by Cricket
Association of Bengal today saw 168 people being vaccinated.
People vaccinated included former international cricketers, umpires,
scorers and groundsmen apart from Apex Council members, committee members and
former committee members.
"We have organised this vaccination drive in association with
AMRI. It went on beautifully without any hiccups. Though the first dose of
vaccine was administered, awareness program was also simultaneously on that
vaccine is not enough. Along with it we
need to wear mask and maintain social distancing and follow all Covid protocols
in order to keep the disease at bay.
Today 168 people were vaccinated and they included people like
our member Mr. Rabi Mitra, who's above
80, and former international cricketers like Utpal Chatterjee and Gargi
Banerjee," said CAB President Avishek Dalmiya.
First dose of vaccine was given today and the second dose will be
given in due course of time.
"The peole who were given the first dose of vaccine will be
given the second dose in 3-6 week's time as per given protocols and in
consultation with AMRI. After tomorrow
when everyone above 18 years can be vaccinated we will organise vaccination for
our players so that each one of our players can be vaccinated early," said
Hony. CAB Secretary Snehashis Ganguly.
