Mohammedan Sporting Club is looking to
bounce back in winning track against TRAU FC in Hero I-League encounter
at Kalyani Stadium on Tuesday.
Mohammedan started the campaign with a
win against Sudeva FC and drew the next match against Churchill Brothers. They
are currently in the third place on the table with 4 points from two matches.
Before step in against TRAU on Friday, Mohammedan Coach Jose Havia explained
that his team steps in to win every match.
He said, “We just want to keep adding to
our performances. We have said after game one that we want to get better, and
after game two we want to get better for game three.”
Hevia
will have to strategies and break the flow of TRAU’s possession-based style, as
they have averaged almost 55% possession in their games so far. The defensive
resilience of the likes of Eze Kingsley, Asheer Akhtar and Hira Mondal will
have to be on display to deny TRAU’s forward men that comprises Komron Tursunov
and Bidyashagar Singh among others with Joseph Olaleye pulling the strings from
midfield.
Spanish
Coach said, “It worries any team if you don’t score. We have to work on it as
much as we can,” Hevia said. “We have been doing well, but we have to convert
our chances. We are missing a lot of chances and if we were to convert our
chances we would be talking a different story now. But we are not looking down
as a team. We are positive and we are not giving up.”
The
gaffer made it clear that they are going to approach the game with a more
patient lookout as they will prefer to read their opponents before hurling the
attacks on TRAU. Hevia holds the Manipur-outfit in high esteem but he is
confident his side will be able to deal with any challenge thrown at them.
“TRAU
is full of energy. They have a lot of good players. You have to give them
respect. It’s not going to be easy against them but
every game we play to win. We have prepared well for the occasion.” Hevia explained.
For the record, when these
two teams faced each other last time Mohammedan SC thrashed TRAU 6-0 in an 2nd
Division League encounter in March 2018.
